Cowtown Mini Donuts in 64155, meet the owners Travis and Cortney Stewart

What made you decide to open this business?

Cortney said the idea came to her while she was sitting at her kid’s Saturday morning soccer game. She thought it would be great if there was a food truck that served coffee and donuts. After she met her husband, Travis, she told him her idea and he helped make it happen.

What has surprised you most when owning a business?

What has surprised Travis and Cortney is the turnout they have wherever they are. People love their donuts and are happy to have them there.

What is something most people don’t know about the business?

Cortney said a lot of people don’t know where the name Cowtown came from. It is a nickname for Kansas City. Also Cortney makes all her glazes from scratch.

What are your goals over the next year?

Travis and Cortney would like to get another truck. They also want to continue to have fun and enjoy being together.

What are your greatest challenges?

Cortney said most of their challenges are equipment issues.

Anything exciting going on that customers should know about?

Cortney said they are going to be offering pumpkin donut hole kabobs and coming up with new flavors. Follow them on Facebook to see where they’ll be next.
